Don’t talk on your phone while walking
Pickpocketing is one of the most problematic issues seniors have to deal with when they go out for a walk. Phone calls cause distractions, so seniors should focus on their way. One reason why it is also discouraged to talk to your phone is because of how easy it is to snatch it in their hand. Seniors have weaker grips because of old age. Go to a safe corner or sit down on a bench with other people if you have to take a call. Imagine if you are above 60 and you have to chase somebody because they snatched your phone!

Criminals are less likely to take action when they sense your confident aura. Stand straight and keep your chin up and your shoulders back. Be the first one to tell your grandma/grandpa that a hunched posture will make them seem timid. Crimes begin in one’s mind.
